Nathan finds finding and exploiting security vulnerabilities to be nearly as much fun as crushing opposing linemen, his former hobby.  Most recently, he has performed red team analysis of Smart Grid infrastructure to allow effective defences to be built.  He is interested in cryptography, and all aspects of systems programming with an impact on security: compilers, OS, networking, etc.  In his spare time Nathan is the president of the Purdue CTF team b01lers (CTFs are security competitions), and training for a triathlon (side benefits of which included not dieing of a heart attack at age 50).
